It took place during a 10 overs a side match in the Saltley indoor league, writes Paul Nicol, in which several professionals play, including Kabir and Kadeer Ali, Moeen Ali (Warks) and Naqqash Tahir (Warks).

I was playing for the Casuals (my dad's old team, always finished bottom) against Saltley.

Only three of our team of six turned up as the rest were scared. Kabir's cousin Omar Ali scored about 50 for them out of a total of 115. In reply, I managed to run myself out for 2 while backing up before he bowled.

As for the actual wicket, Kabir played me with great circumspection, gently smacking two into the walls and two down the wicket. I then, somehow, managed to conjure up an inswinger, which took his inside edge and went through to the keeper.
